The Queensland SEQ EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) trains were the first electric trains to operate in Queensland, beginning service in 1979 and being built at Walkers Maryborough. After more than four decades, the fleet was retired in 2025, with the final public journey occurring in July. Their retirement was due to the introduction of new rolling stock and the older fleet no longer being compliant with modern standards
