The Melbourne N Class Diesel refers to series of diesel-electric locomotives built by Clyde Engineering in Somerton, Victoria primarily for V/Line passenger services.
The double-cab locomotives, also known as the dog-bone class, are based on the EMD JT22HC-2 model and were once used for long-distance routes and peak-hour commuters. While their use has declined with the introduction of VLocity trains, some N class locomotives still operate for V/Line and some have been sold for freight use
