The Siemens Nexas trains are a class of electric multiple units operated by Metro Trains Melbourne on several suburban lines, including Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston, Williamstown, Werribee, Sunbury, Craigieburn and Upfield. Delivered between 2002 and 2006, the trains consist of three-car sets in a motor-trailer-motor (M-T-M) configuration, which can be coupled to form six-car trains. After initial braking issues led to a partial withdrawal from service, a sanding system was installed across the fleet, and the trains are now considered reliable.
